How to update connection properties of website application <br\> <br\> Three steps are required: <br\>
- Update 'Global.asa' file. You can find this file in the application root folder of the website. To find the application root folder:
- Find Internet Information Services (IIS) in Control Panel
- Under Sites /Default Web Sites, search for the name which immediately follows the domain name of website URL address. For example, Orders in http://111.113.1.4:8080/Orders.
- Click on this name and then click on Basic Settings in the right panel
- Website application folder can be found under Physical Path
- Update ODBC connection
- Application("Conn") in 'Global.asa' file contains the name of the ODBC connection
- You can update ODBC connection in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/ODBC
- Find the name of ODBC connection in File DSN or System DSN tab and click update
- Finally, you need to update 'Web.XML' file. To find this file:
- Find the crystal application name in IIS
- Find and explore the same name in the parent folder of the website application root folder
- Update server name and database name in this file
